Simply grab your kit, and a balloon pump to get started with our instructions below or by watching our video.

How long will my balloon garland last?

In the right conditions, air-filled balloons will last weeks, however, balloons will naturally oxidise, creating a matte look. Many factors can affect balloons lasting longer than others this includes temperature changes and sunlight exposure.

Will I need helium for a balloon garland?

No helium is required to complete your balloon garland kit. However, you will need a balloon pump (hand pump or electric) to inflate the balloons.

What is included in my DIY Balloon Garland Kit?

Our kits include the balloons, decorating strip, glues dots and step by step instructions, everything you need to create your very own balloon garland.

A balloon pump is required to inflate the balloons but is sold separately.

Why don't you include a balloon pump?

There are a few reasons why we don't automatically include balloon pumps in our kits. With balloons being so popular right now we find that a lot of people have a balloon pump at home already. Letting you choose if you need one helps keep costs down for you and also means we are doing our small part for the environment but not having something go to waste.

How long does it take to put a DIY Garland kit together?

Our 2m garland kits takes 1 person approximately 60 minutes to construct.
Our 4m garland kits takes 1 person approximately 90 minutes to construct.

How long before the party can I construct my balloon garland?

You can construct your balloon garland a day or two before the event, this is when the balloons are at their best. Once constructed keep the garland indoors in a cool, dark place (away from direct sunlight) if possible before the event.

What size are the garlands pictured on your website?

Please see the individual item description for which size is reflected in the photograph. All our images are of actual setups.

What are the sticky dots for?

These are used during the final stages to attach mini balloons to the garland and fill in any gaps. I recommend adding the small balloons once your garland is in place.

What is the balloon decorating strip?

You will find it called a few different things including balloon tape, chain or strip. What this genius tool does is hold all the balloons together. A long piece of plastic, with small holes perfect for inserting the knotted end of the balloon into. Most importantly it allows you to change things up even after the garland is complete.

How do I hang my balloon garland?

Command hooks or similar perfect for hanging your garland from. Most garlands will require 2 or more hooks depending on the style.

INSTRUCTIONS

STEP 1

Inflate your balloons using a pump. Random sizes for the large balloons are key. Tie a knot ensuring you have left some tail on the balloon, for double-stuffed balloons, tie the inner balloon.

STEP 2

Start with the large balloons, pull the knot through decorating strip holes, attach balloons to both sides of the strip. Remember to start a few spots in, leaving room on each end to hang your garland.

STEP 3

Hang your garland. Attach each end to hooks.

Step 4

Add glue dots to small balloons, place these to cover the gaps. Add any desired additional accessories.

Complete

Woohoo! Stand back and check out that amazing garland you just finished.

HOW DO I GET CONFETTI TO STICK TO THE SIDES OF MY BALLOON?

To stop the confetti pooling in your balloon you need to create static. Simply rub the balloon with a dry cloth (your hand will also do), roll the balloon and watch the confetti stick.

If you are filling the balloon with helium we recommend putting in a little bit of air. A good ratio is 20% air, 80% helium.

HOW DO I GET MY BALLOONS TO HAVE A ROUND SHAPE?

Fully inflate the balloon, then while pressing the base on a flat surface release some air this will help minimise the teardrop shape.

WHAT ARE DOUBLE STUFFED BALLOONS? HOW DO I INFLATE AND TIE THEM?

Double stuffed balloons are 2 balloons, with one inside the other. By stuffing 2 balloons together and creating layers it helps us create new and unique colours.

Double stuffed balloons can be inflated as normal.

Tying only the inside balloon is much easier. To assist with tying the double stuffed balloons stretch the neck of the inner balloon before tying. You can tie both balloons, however, tying the outer balloon is not necessary.
