Where does the palm leaf come from?

The Areca Palm is a tree that grows naturally in India. Areca Palms produce large fronds and these are left to drop naturally to the ground.

The palm leaf itself varies in thickness from 2 to 4mm, as well as in colour and pattern.

How is it made into tableware?

The process is simple, the leaf is hand collected, washed in spring water and heat pressed into various shapes such as plates and bowls. (this also sterilises the leaf). They are then trimmed and left to fully dry in the sun. No chemical is used in the process to make palm leaf disposable plates and palm leaf bowls. Natural and Eco Friendly! No pulp, no starch, just a washed and pressed leaf.

The result is a strong, semi-flexible yet not brittle, water and heat resistant leaf that has retained its natural grains, texture and colour. Every single piece has a unique look and is now ready to serve food.

How can you use them?

The plates and bowls are the strongest and most heat tolerant disposable plates being suitable for both hot and cold food.

They are so versatile that they can even hold liquids without leaking. Serve your entrees, mains and desserts on our palm leaf tableware.

How do I dispose of them?

The beauty of the palm leaf range being a natural product with no chemicals is that they are 100% compostable! You can place them in your compost and they break down within 60 days.
